Red One

With the cast and budget it should have been more than it was, but it's entertaining. Some of the CGI is just straight up ugly, and I don't usually comment on that. But I dig the premise and the way it plays around with the Santa mythology. I wish Krampas didn't get beat up so easily at the end, and the action was a little hokey at times. But it was relatively funny and heartfelt. Not an original message, but one that's nice to hear.

I went into this movie expecting it to be dumb, bad, but entertaining. Turned out to be dumb, good and entertaining.

Not surprised this was a flop. They just did the generic action movie and swapped all potential cool lines with corny Christmas references. That's they did.

Mildly amusing and has the basic arc of a feel-good Christmas movie. Evans and The Rock are decent enough together. That said the final act was quite weak. Needed a denouement scene with Evans. Some magic elements are drastically underused and/or shoehorned.

I knew it was going to be not the smartest most innovative movie ever, and I was not disappointed because it was just that. There was some creativity in the middle of it, in spite of the many many clichés. I applaud the scenes where so many characters had creature makeup on, it's nice to see practical effects in the sea of CGI. Otherwise, it just is.

This movie has some good moments but also some predictable ones. Te cast does a good job but the script is below average. Overall this film is disappointing.

I very much dislike Christmas movies, but this one was alright. Good, albeit predictable character arc, cool cgi fights. People here are acting like they were expecting The Godfather.

A LEVEL 4 NAUGHTY LISTER!!??

It might be because I had exceedingly low expectations going into it, but I didn't hate it, and even more-so I actually kind of enjoyed it. It plays everything straight in an over-the-top cheesy way, and the action and comedy aren't anything great (though I did laugh a bit), but it tries to have some nice messages mixed into the silliness, and it's enough to be entertaining and enjoyable for a light-hearted family-friendly watch.

I like the concept of this, and Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson are good, but I think the movie drags a bit. I think if the movie was trimmed down a bit, it might have scored higher. Although I think Kiernan Shipka didn't fit the villain role at all. I like her, but she was a bad choice for that role. JK Simmons was of course awesome as Santa, and I appreciated the other mythological additions. I will say it was strange to hear so much cursing in an otherwise family oriented Christmas movie, lol.

It's all a bit of a CGI fest and can be shockingly ugly visually at times (especially on 250M)for that reason, but the cast is all into it and it's relatively inoffensive fun in what feels like fairly fresh packaging. You can safely assume every significant plot point from the first ten minutes and the plot holes/premise holes are big enough to drive a giant Santa's sleigh through , but if you're not expecting much it's relatively enjoyable dumb fun/fluff and mostly a nice little Christmas movie

Isn't this supposed to be on Netflix? It feels like one. The Red One...oooffff

It's undeniably silly, but the cast buying into it and the narrative never taking itself too seriously make for a fun viewing.

Might pass as some sort of lazy entertainment when lying on a couch after your Christmas dinner. Mostly noisy and ugly.

Pretty much what I was expecting. Nothing high art but kinda dumb fun. Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans had some good banter together and yeah it wasn’t the funniest movie ever, but it toyed with the Christmas tropes a bit and I liked it for doing that. It was a watchable Christmas movie and that’s fine.
