There is a lot of good in this, but it's so heavy handed and drama filled that it's mostly hard to enjoy. The action was acceptable but not remarkable. The drama was often tedious. I did however really enjoy the steampunk take on space war. Worth watching, but be prepared for poor pacing.

My first instinct was to rate this slightly higher than Part One, since it is overall a more even experience, but ultimately I don't think I should be rewarding this movie for trying to achieve less. Big meh.

CURSE OF FORGIVENESS: The oppression of a village gives a woman who feels guilty about past homicidal sins the chance to atone by committing mass murder, accompanied by a Holocaust survivor, a refugee from the Vietnam War, and several others. There is again an opening lengthy sex scene that goes nowhere, and the son from the previous film stays a minor character whose trauma is not really thematised. All in all, it seems that the decision to make two versions was not properly thought through.

The fight choreo is weak, made worse by the slow mo. The "dramatic" moments aren't. The V-FX are really great, but you can't base a story off of that. And the main characters' plot armor is as transparent as with stormtroopers. There was never any risk. The laz weapons can shoot through some metal, but not tank metal, but a single grenade from the inside shreds it to bits. I'm sure Zack as always dreamed of being a great writer, but it's time he realized that he is not.

I also watched the second part only in the Director's Cut version. It's so funny how in this version the women also shaved their armpits and remember to take care of their teeth. Clean and shiny regardless of the environment. They forgot to focus on the story and the characters. Again. But the visuals were stunning. I loved the detail they put into both movies.

Some people seemed to have super-hated it but it was basically just a movie-length sci-fi battle so I’m kinda like ehh whatever it amused me, albeit in a dumb and predictable way. Maybe I’m biased though because I think Sofia Boutella might be the hottest actress in the world, and I don’t mean for her age; I think she’s hotter than actresses 20 years younger than her, a legendary babe!!

Maybe, just maybe, the real Rebel Moon was the friends we made along the way. Oh wait, that was the first movie. Umm... Rebel Moon, Rebel Moon... Scargiver, things happening in slow motion, harvesting grain, more slow motion. Oh I got it: the real Rebel Moon was the tragic backstories we told while drinking ale in the longhouse.

First film wasn't terrible, if a tad predictable and derivative, but this is absolutely awful. Plot is glacial, story is even more predictable than the first, dialogue is atrocious. Steer clear, life is too short to waste on these two hours.

At least 'A Child of Fire' tried to do something. It failed but at least it tried.

Not that it was a bad movie per se, I just didn't care for anything. Not the plot, nor the setting, nor the characters. Colossal waste of money.

It was... completely stupid, from start to finish. The concept of Amish people from space using highly advanced tech for something they absolutely do not need, but keeping the very low and antiquated tech for every day task is just absurd. And then there is a battle. The end. Yeah. Dumb.

As much as I like Synder's filmography, these two films are dreadful. I'm all for run of the mill action films that have original narratives and characters, with style over substance, but these are just dreadful. I don't get his choice in cinematography (which started with Army of the Dead - which I also didn't like) where the background is warped and blurry for every god damn shot! I'm glad I didn't pay Netflix to watch this film and pirated it instead.

Double whatever I said for the first one. Much more worse than that. A whole movie about a village fighting against a giant ship, only ‘character scenes’ are when characters literally sit around a table and tell their backstories. It’s a 9 uear old boys wet dream movie, which is what Snyder actually is. This was my final Snyder’s slow mo moving picture paintings movie.

Part One was a schlocky mess, but at least it was tolerable. Rebel Moon Part Two is just an aggressively bad film. The first act is slog during which nothing of note happens. This is followed by our band of heroes sitting around a table having a exposition-off that would rival Jackson's Hobbit films. The action, effects & stylisation are all subpar. There's also not a lot of acting going on yet Huisman (the Dutch answer to Bradley Cooper) still manages to be particularly annoying. Utter rubbish!

I liked it some but it's hard to ignore that the first half is a lot of hucking grain around. The final act battle was not nearly as inspired as Snyder set us up for, but I was still entertained by it. He suffocates certain scenes with slo-mo, which some would argue he always does... but in these movies it bothers me sometimes. He doesn't do enough with the universe he has to play in. Also bothered by him already telling us that there's a "real" version of this.
