When you have a girl full of life as Shirley Temple you can make a movie without much good material and just rely on her saying something cute and singing a bunch of songs. This one is a perfect example of that. Just cashing in on her popularity with some of the most obvious plot developments possible. Had it not been for Slim Summerville and a groping Jack Haley I think this would have been pretty painful. But you know a professional Shirley Temple will carry this in her very self-reliant way.
