That only four people on Criticker have rated this little 60s masterpiece is heart-breaking. John Guillermin perfectly captures a 14 year old girl's isolation and loneliness and desperation after believing an escaped convict on the run is the straw scarecrow she created, brought to life. Utterly wonderful.

Em honra de Dean Stockwell (1936 - 2021). Estava gostando bastante, a primeira metade do filme estava excelente com o despertar sexual de uma adolescente, mas todas aquelas idas e vindas da metade final fazem o filme enfraquecer, embora tenha gostado demais do paralelo entre a boneca quebrada e o Dean Stockwell nos rochedos como perda total da infância/inocência.
