Cuts out before any resolution, but great worldbuilding in 20 minutes - this is the closest you're going to get to a Half-Life 2 adaptation unless someone decides to properly do it.

A fun scifi short. Shot stylishly, not sure if it would reach district 9 levels if it were feature lengths but I wish I could see what happened.

First short from Oats studios, Neill Blomkamps new project. I really like the idea here, given some nourishment this could be a really decent feature film, better than most of the shitty sci-fi that hollywood 'dreams' up anyway. As a short it has already accomplished this. I do like the pyromaniac character, think it would be interesting to make him the main focus.

It's nice to see Blomkamp do something that is clearly a work of passion. I'm not nearly as hard on his "misses" as others, but this seems like a worthy successor to District 9, which maybe his other films didn't to a lot of people. He mines familiar territory, and it's not the most satisfying short (this may not be the proper ending), but it's stylish and engaging with cool music and great visuals.
