Railroad Tigers

It's a fun movie, but not one with a consistent tone. It's kind of silly and lighthearted action/comedy and then people are getting their necks broken or getting hit by pieces of a train. This creates a contrast that's jarring at times. I still enjoyed it, but the inconsistent tone of the movie just kind of takes you a little off guard.

Super fun movie. Chan still has the same trademark martial arts/physical comedy he used to make a name for himself. There's some superb chemistry between all of the Chinese characters, often times they sound like a hilarious group of bickering elderly people. The action is top notch, the comedy is great, and the story is up to par. Check it out expecting all the bells and whistles of a big budget Hollywood movie, but not expecting a work of art.

Strange how it steadfastly refuses to pick a tone.

Jackie Chan heading a group of silly Chinese rebels against the stupid Japanese soldiers that's invaded their country for murderous slapstick warfare! All fun, but it was the usual modern action movie where they put too much stuff in at once instead of focusing on making the key moments shine. Would have benefited from toning down what they were doing. Still a lot of laughs, even if there was no reason for this film to be over 2 hours long.

It was fun but full with wrong moral messages.. This like U.S.A. Vs Russia movie China Vs Japan.. All chinese are clever and all japanese are dumb. But its still a good black humor movie.. Great visuals and fine screenplay.

a bit messy and it can drag on at times even with this many action scenes. It was original in many scenes and plot points though

Shittily edited tonal mess with bland cinematography, musical choices I can't even begin to understand and the most boring action scenes I've ever seen.

The film would have worked as either a comedy or a war drama but it doesn't really work as both. The film was too long and it made the whole film drag.
