A serviceable, straightforward documentary that could use a little jolt from the radical nature of its endlessly watchable subject.

It has good moments when the account is sober; but mostly it's a homage, trying to portray a hero rather than showing who she was.

Nice puff piece about a woman who completely deserves it. Touches on the highlights of her legal career, though this viewer was well acquainted with that already. Gives a fun glimpse into her personal background and life, which is interesting if not earth shattering.

As documentaries go, RBG is a slick, well-crafted, and remarkably candid profile of a woman working in one of the most rarefied institutions in America. And RBG herself is a truly inspiring and fascinating figure worth of a feature-length bio that doubles as a basic primer on the evolution of women's rights. Nevertheless, the movie often steers into hero worship, finding solace in RBG's cult of personality instead of fully reckoning with the ways her judicial legacy is being challenged.

So this is boring as shit, completely exaggerated to the point of trying to godilise her. Well i usually research documentaries quickly after watching them. RBG was a nasty evil woman like most politicians and why the hell is there this BS film celebrating her. Its just propaganda and it wont work on me

Well done document about Ruth. There was some modern ways to show some important lines on screen in 3D.

A slightly one-sided and repetitive celebration of a person that warrants the celebration, but perhaps also warrants a better film. The highlight is the story of RBG and her husband. What an amazing couple.

Interesting documentary about an important and interesting person.

Inescapably inspirational by the very nature of the subject in question, whom it extols as a living legend with little need for convincing (and her remarkable late husband). But it's basically a fan letter to RBG and as such, it doesn't have a lot of complexity or depth.

Fine documentary is nevertheless (ironically) conservative in its dealing with Ginsberg's life, political and otherwise. Such a groundbreaking and fascinating figure deserves a more incendiary profile than the fairly safe, TV doco level of this film. Having said that, this is still a smooth and enjoyable overview of the last 50 years of U.S. history, and Ginsberg proves steely, formidable and extremely lovable subject matter.

Ginsburg is an important figure and someone very worthy of a documentary, but this is a fairly average piece of work. It kind of settles into a boring groove after a while. It establishes RBG as an important liberal voice on the Supreme Court and an increasingly popular cult figure in her own right, and then is satisfied with talking heads praising her for practically the entire final third of the doc. It doesn't make for very compelling viewing, I have to say.

I enjoyed the family photos and some of the endearing moments from RBG's personal life. For the purely historical cases I feel like I would have been more entertained reading about it on Wikipedia. The special effects were cheesy and distracting (old timey film reel sounds, keyboard typing sounds, popup transcript text). Overall, it was a decent behind the scenes look at someone who the majority of Americans have no idea about.
