Well, it was a bit too stretched but as I live in France for years, it talked to me and I really enjoyed it (This needs to be said: France is by far the most tolerant place for foreigners in 4 countries I have lived in). It is a bit like sketch after sketch; but somehow it was pretty coherent. Another strong point of the movie is giving its 10-12 leads enough time to shine. "You could have told me that your parents were white" line kinda explains the whole movie.

Stupid, but now a nostalgic reminder of how much more relaxed attitudes on immigration were just ten years ago.

There are humorous ways of dealing with this type of subject matter that can be smart and insightful. This movie instead opted to bludgeon its audience with contrived situation after contrived situation. Its characters merely exist to regurgitate its one central theme and don't seem to have much of a personality beyond that function. Casual racism is a sensitive topic. It can work as the theme of even more lightweight humor, but that takes talent and care. This comedy was painfully unfunny.

It's just light-hearted fun, despite the theme. But the younger generations will probably find offense and police themselves not to laugh.

I laughed, but the storyline is easily forgettable, and at points, hardly believable.
