Good performances & well made for the time & budget (aliens look cheap, but they make objects magically fly really well), but there's a big problem w/ the script. The mystery of the aliens is compelling until it's revealed a third of the way through. Then we get a very sloggy half hour where it seems nothing is at stake other than you might see some harmless ghosts & be dazed/scared. Then destruction starts, primarily b/c we're bored. It also caricatures military leaders as unhelpful jerks.

The color was vibrant, as Technicolor should be, Andrew Keir was well-rounded Quatermass at times superior to his Donlevy predecessor though he didn’t have the same presence, and Julian Glover is always one of my favorites and meets a gooey, gory end. It’s a shame that with everything at their disposal, and with their expertise in shock, Hammer chose to make a film that tells vastly more than it shows, a cold limp bloodless piece of sci-fi horror.

The performances are first-rate, and I like some of the sci-fi ideas, but, man, why did the martian corpse have to look so damn ridiculous?

A very solid science fiction tale that reminded me of a lot of sci-fi TV shows and that's not a bad thing. The characters were a lot of fun and the threat was weird, creepy and well thought out.

Starts off quite well, a solid step up from the previous Quatermass films. But around the halfway point it becomes apparent that the writer didn't have a good idea of where to take the story and it toils around in boring discussions and manufactured conflict before a nonsensical finale.

The first one was partly interesting (before it turned into a typical monster flick), second was ridiculous, and this third entry is most certainly the best of Quatermass. A palpable sense of mystery, and horror in its last act, can be felt at every step of the way. Truly otherworldly and fascinating science fiction material.

Many ideas coalesce in a strange and mysterious tale. Although some of the special effects are pretty lousy, others are good, and it does manage to develop a fair amount of visual power, with a great final shot as the credits roll. Also contains a brief but very prophetic discussion of climate change and the likely human response. The only Quatermass film I’ve seen.

Peculiar creature feature which I don't think meant to send the message that the way to save the earth is to punch a woman. The opening is interesting, but starts to flounder partway through, and then there's a lot of explosions with some science-y mumbo jumbo. Some decent effects although others are a little hokey. Fav moment: the colonel's "last stand," although I really hoped he'd say something like "those darned Germans."

Reminiscent of a Jon Pertee-era Doctor Who episode, this has good performances and a reasonably intelligent plot, but builds to a somehow unsatisfying, rushed climax. Some atmospheric scenes along the way. Watched in tribute to Barbara Shelley (1932-2021).

Em honra de Barbara Shelley (1932 - 2021). WOW. Como o primeiro Quatermass para cinema não havia me impressionado, nem me importei de ver os outros, mas como é usual ao Roy Ward Baker, esse aqui é um filmaço, tô sem fôlego até agora. Box Obras-primas do Cinema Coleção Estúdio Hammer Volume 4.

Starts of with a very intriguing mysterious discovery, but loses momentum halfway dragging the explanation of what's going on, but makes up for this with a fabulous grand finale.

Known as "Five Million Years to Earth" in the US this is an excellent take on the our existence is the result of alien interference. It should be noted this is a movie version of the 6 part BBC 1958-1959 miniseries and is far better in terms of pacing.

We really are mutant apes with giant brains that have developed a culture without the knowledge of our actual distant forgotten and unknown origins

I'm not quite sure what this is, but I quite enjoyed it. Intriguing mystery surrounding an unearthed alien ship. Ancient Aliens is rubbish, but there's something to be said for films that mix UFO stuff with religious mythology.
