Purple Heart Diary

Frances Langford's last starring vehicle is unfortunately a one of her weakest. A feature in musicals in the 1930s and 40s, her screen career was dwindling down when the 1950s came, she tried to revive her relevancy with this 'singing to the troops' story, something she would often do in real life through the Bob Hope connection. She even helped write Purple Heart Diary (1951), but whatever heart was put into this production didn't shine through the screen.
