In today's world of modern conveniences, everything we rely on is run by electricity. But what happens if the power we take for granted turns against us? Old man Holger (Tyner) claims electricity is a living presence, whose voice can only be silenced by getting rid of anything that can hear it. Bill Rockland (De Young), however, refuses to believe him. After a series of accidents nearly kill his son (Lawrence) and wife (Hart), Bill realizes the time has come to pull the plug. Not to be confused with the million other films also called "Pulse". A slow-burning & surprisingly well-shot suburban B-horror that can be pretty effective. Sentient electricity's our antagonist, & makes for a good one, but it doesn't show its face as much as I'd like. The acting isn't great, but apart from being pacey, everything else is pretty solid. It's a shame it doesn't go completely off the wall, but I also admire its restraint. It treads softly, which will either appeal or it won't.

80's era haunting movie that seems well targeted at a younger audience. The scares are tame and predictable and the effects are just not particularly impressive. Pass on this one, it's not anything to write home about.

It's not a bad little film. It's kind of like a cross between Final Destination and Poltergeist but not as good as either one. Pulse also as a TV feel to it like something you'd find on an anthology film from the late '80s or early '90s.
