One of the first lead roles Jane Wyman got and she was a natural up front! Can't say the same thing about her leading man William Hopper. For Berton Churchill is wonderful in this, almost mimicking W.C. Fields with that subtle conman talk. A truly under-appreciated character actor who once more saves a below par production. Marie Wilson also has a handful mini moments of excellence. So if you look past the pathetic script you'll find great stuff.
