BluRayRip PSYCHD

A really effective drama-thriller that uses the blindness of the central character in a variety of ways, all the while generating sympathy for him and the situations he's often placed in. Weaving is superb and perfectly cast in this role, displaying a healthy amount of assuredness wrapped in vulnerability. I'm not as big a fan of Crowe's performance, but at least he's a great character for Weaving to bounce off, who seems faulty and flawed with his earnestness.

An unusual and fascinating movie. Weaving and Crowe give star-making performances very early in their careers, and Geneviève Picot is easily their equal as the third side of the triangle. Jocelyn Moorhouse's writing seems to get better and better as the film progresses.

You can't watch this movie and not like Russell Crowe and Hugo Weaving.

Despite a few turns into quirkyness, most of the film feels very honest and it's a very interesting perspective from which to examine human relationships. It helps that Weaving is sympathetic but far from pitiable, making it quite rewarding to judge his actions and reactions both from the perspective of his character and in the broader context of human experience.

Unusually good character study

two big names long before their time, it's a good peak into their early careers, but the movie fails in providing great cinema. i have no problems with the acting, it's the story that lacks. i can see that when thought up this was a good idea, but it was poorly implemented and suffers from disallowing the viewer to care in any way.
