Prologue

The hand-drawn animation is astounding, but it doesn't work as a stand-alone film. As it is, it is little more than a proof of concept that this style of animation can be visceral and violent in an effective way. More demo reel than film, but an exceedingly impressive demo reel. (And, from listening to Williams talk, that's evidently what this is: a demo/prologue for a bigger project he wants to do.)

Really damn impressive animation that conveys realism in a way no other animation has, which leads to the fights having a viscerality that live action films rarely have let alone animation. I'm curious to see how this would work in a bigger project as I've never seen animation quite like this.

Beautiful, but feels more like an animation test, or a segment of a film not a complete stand-alone short.
