Worth seeing for the gorgeous animation, but the story is a basically a rehash of the Cypher subplot from the original Matrix.

It's the start of something that would be good, but it ends right as it gets there. Still fantastic animation and ending. Fight scene fits perfectly in the Matrix universe

This has always been my favourite from The Animatrix. Not only is the animation in this the best, as well as the action scenes, but it utilises a tangential story of the Matrix universe and runs it for as long as it needs to be -- so it's definitely the most compelling and engaging, too.

Did the Animatrix really need to be broken up into all ten(?) segments?

Well the animation was good but I found the fight to be too over the top to be really enjoyable. I know that sounds strange considering it's about The Matrix but I think that's one of the things I didn't like about The Matrix sequels, it was just too over the top in its action sequences for its own good.

The animation was kinda cute, but the story was not that interesting. There's better on the Animatrix dvd.

Generic samurai anime fused with Cypher's subplot from the first Matrix movie. Some decent bladed weapon fighting, but overall it's not that memorable and blazes no thematic ground not covered in the original film.
