Private Detective 62

A solid if generic crime picture starring William Powell. Powell doesn't really get a change to be his suave self but he does reasonably well as the tough PI who has morals.

Detective William Powell. Sounds good for a movie idea, doesn't it? That's why it was done a bazillion times during Powell's career. And Private Detective 62 is another solid one of that even if I wish they'd made it longer then 67 minutes to enhance the plot more. Both romantic and dirty with murder, double-crosses, drug addicts and so on. Including this little gem of dialogue said to the shivering hired killer - "And lay off that show 'till this gets cold!"
