Primal Rage

Turned this on for the monkey horror kept it on for the incredible Halloween dance party. We were all wondering where all the gore was waiting - it was at the Halloween dance where the costume designer decided to just do every single costume idea they have ever had - it's incredible- especially when you consider these are all costumes whipped up by the lowest of the low: horny teens

Werewolf-like movie pumping '80s soundtrack. It was refreshing to see the male lead be such a boy scout. Plenty of cable TV gore. This is the type of movie that would have scared me when I was younger. Fav scenes: freaking out and trashing a medical clinic reception area; the Halloween party had a good variety of costumes and creative deaths.

I was expecting more monkey mayhem but I left completely satisfied by Demons style gore and an unbelievable Halloween party that made the town from The Nightmare Before Christmas look like Emerald City. I didn't really know how to play that. I reserve the right to improve that reference at some point in the future.

I know it's pretty dumb, pretty tame & not exactly the height of horror cinema, but this was miles beyond anything I expected & I kind of love it. The performances aren't bad, the gore- when it's there- is pretty good, & the practical effects are solid. The premise is interesting, the setting is fun, & the party montage was awesome- those costumes were cool as hell. The bits of comedy sprinkled in work for the most part, & the characters are sympathetic. Give this a look if it sounds like fun.
