Pride of the Marines

Epic Hollywood honoring a war hero and dealing with the mental struggles of going blind. Right up John Garfield alley, yet this wasn't the dramatic performance we're used to from him. Not saying it was bad, just that he's grabbed opportunities more passionately than this. But everything around him is polished and professional as it gets from a Warner Bros picture. Quality movie on all aspects. One that probable should have been an absolute classic, but lacked that edge to make it there.
