At least these have a theme, they're all the hand-painted stuff. This is my favorite kind of Brakhage. I admit, though, that's it mainly because they're trippy and beautiful to look at. Brakhage's artistic rationales for these usually sound like hogwash to me, and they are somewhat interchangeable. Also hard to take in large doses.

He has done better.

It is what it is, a pretty marriage of colours and of course like pretty much every Brakhage I've seen, I enjoy the ideas behind it... even if I don't necessarily enjoy the movies themselves that much.

An easy introduction into this series; this is far more relaxed in its visual display compared to the others.

No indication of motion, like a flipbook of unrelated abstracts without a common theme.
