Pray for Death

A typical 80's ninja movie that is elevated by the single greatest scene in cinematic history. While Sho is taking out bad guys on a boat, he starts at the back of a group of three. He silently chokes out the guy in back, then sneaks around and jumps into frame just long enough to snap the second guys neck, disappearing out of frame while keeping an eye on the final guy. I want that scene added to every single movie ever made. Jump on screen, break neck, disappear. Every movie ever.

There haven't been this many fat dudes named "Bubba" slaughtered since the Great ZZ Top Massacre of 1978.

A successful executive from Yokohama (who is secretly a ninja) decides to move to America to open a restaurant in a slum for some reason. He runs afoul of the local gangsters on the first day, and ends up having to kill every single one of them. Weak story, bad acting, and terrible music, but Sho Kosugi has a few decent fight scenes where he takes out multiple attackers. That ninja helmet is pretty awesome, too.

This has some great martial arts scenes considering is an early '80s American martial arts film. The soundtrack and nearly everything else is lacking in this especially when compaired to other films from the time such as the equally poorly constructed and underwhelming "The Protector" from the same year.

Continuity? Nope! Psi of 24 reflects a more accurate score but i was taken in by its quintessential 80s trash. It opens with a crappy rock ballad and explodes into amateur hour fights, acting, directing, just everything was dumb and inept. It was delightful but not the sweet trash nectar of say The Miami Connection so it did wear itself out by the end
