Kannan (Sajith Raj), adopted by a childless couple after his parents were killed by goon 'Cheenkanni' Bhaskaran, searches for him, while rising to the top of the criminals in the city of Perumbavoor, heading the sand mafia. Opposing the sand mafia was the honest & environmentally conscious cop Tomy Sebastian (Kalabhavan Mani). Sparks routinely flare between Kannan & Tomy, but things take an ugly turn when Tomy is found dead in Kannan's sand truck. Kannan is accused of Tomy's murder & jailed. (Summary by iceblox)
