Postman Pat: The Movie

Just in case you've ever imagined how awful a Postman Pat movie would be? This is how awful.

Whats there to say? I was curious to see what they'd done with my friendly childhood postman. Sadly, strip him of what made him so likable back in the 80s. This is a very basic animation film for the kids with all the lame kiddie friendly angles including the dated talent show plot. But at least they made the Pat-bots more scary then any of the robots in Transformers 4!

It largely lacks the quaint charm of the classic TV episodes from the '80s and '90s. But overall I found Postman Pat The Movie a pleasant enough watch, packing enough solid jokes amongst the eye-rollers to clearly distinguish itself from bottom-of-the-barrel studio animation. The animation is average but the character design is solid, Jess the cat looks suitably cute. As a package, it's nowhere near as bad as I feared based on the cringe-packed trailer.
