Popcorn

Top badass moment? It’s a film about films. Popcorn freaks me out; I just can’t decide if I prefer it sweet or salty. Either way it’s a nightmare; all those calories and salt, on top of the stress of making the decision. I once broke a tooth on a bit of popcorn that hadn’t popped properly too. This movie is clever, funny and well made, and contains some proper British swearing, but sadly it’s marketing makes it seem as good as a Pot Noodle. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Popcorn might be a little tough to see if you live in North America -- it only got a theatrical release in the UK and its DVD releases have been limited to R2 and R4 locations -- but if a love story set against a backdrop of a behind-the-scenes tour of a cinema sounds like it might interest you, I'd recommend giving it a shot. You'll experience an interesting and funny movie that has a number of good elements, such as the performances, setting, dialogue, and interesting central romance.
