I'm buying what they're selling: a fresh, funny feminist action-comedy with Cornetto Trilogy vibes.

I appreciate how it mixes comedy and action, and even a scene or two that I found legitimately creepy. It starts with a huge amount of potential and you expect it to culminate in something extraordinary, but it doesn't. It's never boring but what you hope for/expect is greater than what this is. It felt like it was going to have awesome action and frankly, it's kind of lame in comparison to other action movies. With that said, I did like the characters and the comedy.

This was just a genuinely fun ride. Doesn't have, at least for me, quite the resonance to take it from "fun" to the next stage - the side characters a tad flat, the script not always entirely sure of how to balance the whole Scott Pilgrim-meets-Bottoms fighting plot. But I love the approach Manzoor takes here, letting her lead character both mess up and mess people up, and the finale is truly glorious.

This was quite a fun ride, marrying the humor and cultural specificity of We Are Lady Parts with the sudden unexpected genre outbreaks of Scott Pilgrim.

Pretty funny and off-the-wall in a delightful way.

First half was a lot of fun. I have so many questions about the rest...

The style and plot take engaging risks, but the script was written by a focus group.

Cool visuals. Cool soundtrack. Story is all over the place, but that's part of the charm.

Polite Society or the inevitable outcome of 5% of British-Pakistani weddings, is an alright film that jarring shifts tone from daydream-realism to surrealist-nonsense about halfway through (i.e. the waxing scene) and from which it never comes down. In doing so the film abandons realistic themes and characters in favour of kickass whatever-wave feminism, leaving an ending that feels a bit empty. Kansara & Arya are great. Bucha reprises her role from Ms. Marvel. The action is short cuts & edits.

Didn't gel with the jokes or storyline. Visuals were cool though.

Quite funny. A weird mix of normal and bizarre. A lot of fun, but the mundane to comedy doesn't always work, but trying to figure out when real world rules stop applying is a fun challenge. Story gets bizarre but then the movie was bizarre but I didn't realize it until later. An acquired taste type of movie.

"Polite Society" offers a fresh take on the action genre with a focus on sisterhood and an international perspective. Its engaging, well-rounded characters and harmonious blend of genres make it stand out, despite some rough action sequences and occasional over-the-top tone. The lead actresses' chemistry enhances the emotional impact.
