Pola X

Frustrating, given that there's some wonderfully impressive stuff going on, from the mood it often elicits, the cinematography that helps with this, Scott Walker's score (plus the in-film band), and the last few scenes make up a little masterpiece of their own. Unfortunately, there's plenty of excess material here, with plenty of small scenes adding nothing, and even a child character that has the most ridiculous and unnecessary inclusion in this film. Needed an angry pair of scissors.

A rather artistic view of a movie basically about relationships. The flick is generally pretty interesting and well made, my biggest issue is there are some really slow periods throughout the film. This was the first mainstream movie I seen with full penetration shown in plain view. I seen a pretty rough/grainy version of the flick quite a few years ago which doesn't help for the memory of it.

Pola X chronicles the descent of a privileged young writer into poverty, obscurity, and ultimately madness, after meeting his mysterious half-sister. Motivations are ambiguous all round but it always manages to entertain.

A franzied, marvelously confusing tragedy about a famous and young writer, his bossy sister, his naive lover and his bizarre, homeless-from-underground so called sister. Carax refuses to deliver enough information to make it at least comprehensible, but shows a powerful sense of imagery in scenes that often metamorphose in absurd results.

27 Mayis 2013 & carax'in etkilendigi bir kitaptan yola cikarak uyarladigi, ensest bir ask ugruna tum zengin yasantisini, statusunu, kimligini geride birakarak ask ve arzunun haricindeki tum degerlerden kendini soyutlayan bir adamin, bu saf arzu pesinden suruklenirken gecirdigi sureci anlatiyor. Karakterin filmin basindan sonuna kadar ki degisimi cok basarili islenmis. Ancak Carax'in sinematik buluslarini bu sefer az goruyoruz. Bence Carax'in diger islerine nazaran cok kuru bir film.
