Wait, how old was Drew Barrymore when she was having her sex scenes with Tom Skerritt? The main character is nicknamed Ivy, and she's bad, so she's Poison Ivy. Now you don't have to spend the entire film wondering about the title like I did.

Top badass moment? I don't remember one and can't be bothered to look for one now. This was all a bit rubbish, like those random bits of plastic that get washed up on beaches. It didn't even have anything to do with Toxicodendron radicans or Uma Thurman in 'that' costume. I quite liked the black and red skirt though. And you can have hours of fun playing the 'Spot the Leonardo DiCaprio' game too. I dread to think what all the sequels were like. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Barrymore is believable as a dirty whore and Tom Skerritt is believable as a creeper.

It was surprisingly better than I expected, I had anticipated a thoughtless cruel sexual relationship on film, but it turned out to be much more. Still it had a cliche plot and stereo typical characters. And Drew has never looked so good.

Drew Barrymore does an okay job as a vindictive, selfish -- not to say downright evil... actually let's say _downright evil_ -- young seductress. The film is annoying, implausible and boring. Apparently Leonardo DiCaprio was in it somewhere, but I missed him because I wasn't really paying attention.

This film doesn't even give 15 year old males who need to see boobs what they eant, never mind those who want plot or acting.

Really tasteless and exploitative. A great late-night flick to mock relentlessly.

Barrymore reinvented herself as a sexpot here, but in retrospect the hype was unwarranted. She doesn't look that spectacular, and her performance, while passable, was hardly revelatory. It's a pretty predictable thriller of its time where a stranger/outsider ingratiates themself into a family's life with malicious intent. Hints of a class critique are quickly abandoned in favour of pseudo-erotica, and no attention is paid to the obvious fact that Drew's character is effectively a minor.

In "Poison Ivy," (selected theaters), Drew Barrymore plays Ivy, a teen seductress with a Kewpie doll mouth, a strategically placed tattoo and heels. Using her carefully honed wiles, she infiltrates a wealthy, massively screwed-up L.A. family and throws everybody for a loop.

What they show sex offenders in prison to deter them from ever going after jailbait ever again.

It actually doesn't have a lot to distinguish itself within the Fatal Attraction sub-genre aside from being really poorly done. The script is dopey and shockingly jejune. A core scene has Barrymore seducing away Sarah Gilbert's dog. I don't remember if that was before or after she seduced the Dad, but I remember Barrymore was much more into having Gilbert's dog. Even though this was presumably during Barrymore's wild period, she still seems too innocent to be truly bad and the film has no heat.

There's absolutely nothing interesting about this movie. Every character, plot detail and bit of narration is predictable. It's a drab, tepid movie that has no good reason to exist. If you find this movie exciting, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on watching paint dry.

Mediocre 90s erotic "thriller" with a cheesy ass score made watchable simply for the fact that Drew Barrymore is pretty much the sexiest thing alive in this movie. Holy shit. Too bad they couldn't get an hot daddy to match her, Tom Skerritt is skeezy-as-hell.

Just another retarded move left over from a time when people thought our spoiled/disgruntled generation of children was fascinating instead of just plain pathetic.

Drew Barrymore makes out with that annoying girl from Roseanne. at least they didn't replace her halfway thourgh the season, then re-replace her with the original daughter again...There should be a law against that.
