Playing God

An odd mishmash of classic noir and ever so current Tarantino dialogue. Duchovny is the star but Hutton goes for broke with his villain. Doesn't always work feels like an understatement. Angelina Jolie brought the Hackers soundtrack with her for some reason. My nostalgic love for David Duchovny is probably the only thing keeping this from being a disaster.

I liked the film for the most part. It was somewhat slow and a little bit too explained, but I really liked the bit where David Duchovny states that saving hundreds of lives, didn't make up for losing his own. You have to see it to really appreciate it. Most of the plot was solid but there were a few shaky points.

Decent but ultimately rather forgettable thriller, probably could have used a bit more direction or editing or something, and the voice-over didn't really help. It's a shame it wasn't better with good cast having pretty good performances.

most of the 85 points were for David Duchovny. He doesn't have to play god. he *is* god.

A very weak politically correct climax, but an otherwise great film.

A tasty stylin' 80's feel dominates this blood bath with excellent dialogue and mediocre voice over. Solidly entertaining., swimming in cool.

An okay concept botched by dull, uninspired execution, but a never better Timothy Hutton almost makes it worth watching.

Pretty lame plot line but great opportunity for Duchovny eye-candy.
