Lacked way too much suspense for a mystery-thriller, but you can't help but love a film where Maurice Chevalier can be all womanizing and sing like a Frenchman. And on top of that this had a very bizarre appearance by Erich von Stroheim, just the way you want him! So you can see I wanted to love this more, but narratively it skipped too much and the atmosphere was all wrong to capture the true mission of what was going on. Marie Déa was a good undercover babe, though.
