Dead atmosphere. Phil Rosen didn't get much life out of this steamy jungle picture. They tried to make Alan Hale into this ultimate asshole shooting natives and raping women, but it felt like they were trying too hard to get it across and I wouldn't say Hall was a very interesting bad guy regardless of the build-up. The rest of the movie was sleep medicine even if it had plenty of blonds and a cute brunette. And that stairs fight between Hale and Regis Toomey was some of the worst one will see.
