Piccadilly Jim

Good fun screwball like comedy where Robert Montgomery and his dad Frank Morgan fall in love with members of a snobbish family. The revenge of being rejected is Montgomery making a comic strip of the family which becomes a great success. The rich family first hate it then love it because they get famous too. However the girl he's in love with is engaged to a Lord and he must find a way to win her over. This mess never quite comes all together and the end was a bit too inconclusive for my liking.

One more ineptly made adaptation of a Wodehouse work. It's not that it is an extraordinarily bad movie, but what bogs it down is that it simply can't capture the hysterical comic genius of Wodehouse. No self respecting fan of author should see this movie expecting anything amazing or even good, but the average film goer shouldn't expect anything other than typical 30's comedy fodder.
