Phantom

A real movie that feels like a "Made for TV" movie with nice bad acting, and a nice bad plot.

A fairly entertaining and gripping submarine movie. There's honestly not a whole lot of these out there, and most are watchable on setting alone. A bunch of sweaty dudes trapped in a steel can underwater is the ultimate recipe for claustrophobia.

Sub marine thriller. Good enough but there are others that do it better.

So, since nobody on the "don't" side of the submariner-tale debate has even heard of Phantom, much less is reading this review, the obvious question here is, How does this Ed Harris vs. David Duchovny underwater war flick stack up against its cramped competition? (pluggedin.com)

Pretty good intensity but the ending is downright horrid.

I've always enjoyed films about Naval warfare. Whether it be battleships or submarines, these movies have always intrigued me. This one has a pretty weird start, a very intense and great middle and then ends on a pretty stupid note. I think they might have been going for sentimentality when they should have just had a darker ending that was better. Harris was as good as usual, I thought Fichtner stole the show and Duchovny was a very strange choice for a bad guy. This has moments but not many.

An average film. Not much else to say.

It's got many good parts of submarine movies. What I don't get is why the main character's daughter is so young in spite of his retiring age.

Passes the time.

Since I find and watch most sub movies, this one was no exception. Though lacking in budget, this was an intense and compelling action/thriller.
