Pennywise: The Story of It

Some films come into your life at a point where it’s formative. It can not just provide cherished memories, but it’ll inform or expand your taste, it’ll grow your appreciation for a wider variety of artists. For me, one of those films was It (1990). It’s a flawed, bizarre TV movie but it’s engaging as hell for 3 hours of essentially the same setup/scare formula multiple times. So this well-made and thorough doc feels like going home again and seeing the wallpaper with fresh eyes. Good stuff.
