Now a huge star, Coogan wears what would become his patented "Kid gear", hoping to repeat the legendary success of his performance as The Kid. As Peck's Bad Boy he is naughty and has a lot of fun, but when the measuring stick is The Kid (1921), then it's an impossible task to follow up. The mild amusement of Peck's Bad Boy is more down to a messy script then the kid himself. Sam Wood kind of fumbles with what he has to work with and it becomes only a curiosity in Coogan's career.
