I can see very young children gobbling up this cute early Miyazaki flick, but it lacks a bit of the adult appeal his later films have. All the same, a really neat classic anime that's worth a watch.

Cute film for little kids, but lacks any sort of message or significance that Miyazaki's and Takahata's later films would have. Fun to notice some of the references though, like Mimiko being based on Pippi Longstocking, and the pandas' similarities to Totoro.
