Pamela: A Love Story

I don't have much to say about this. Kind of what it says on the tin. What I didn't like was how it seemed to celebrate abusive relationships and how it fell into cliche on a number of occasions. But other than that it was competently made, although kind of typical for this genre.

The documentary on Pamela Sue Anderson was a captivating insight into the life of a real person navigating the complexities of fame. The film humanizes Anderson, portraying her as a relatable individual navigating the ups and downs of life in the spotlight. Throughout the film, Anderson's resilience and positive outlook shine through. Overall, the movie was enjoyable, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for Anderson's strength and grace.

Engaging, enjoyable portrait of Anderson coasts by on its subject’s inherent likability, though the apparent no-holds-barred philosophy seems a little too managed at times; clearly as told (and authorised) by Anderson, as opposed to anything approaching a searing portrait, consequently tending to miss an interesting angle regarding the media’s treatment of women in the 90s in favour of Anderson’s more superficial personal story. Still worthwhile, even if Anderson is/was not on your radar.
