Padeniye Berlina (1-r seria)

One of the first films to dramatize the last days of Hitler. A epic style Soviet effort with heavy Stalin propaganda purposes, even putting him in Berlin after the victory. A bit hard to take at times, but there are memorable scenes, like the last supper, and production is top-notch and sprinkled in color.

So stilted and sycophantic this propaganda puff piece glorifying Uncle Joe borders on the unwatchable... but. Except for some excellent Hitler and top cronies depictions (after all who but a mad dictator would know how to best display the behaviour of a mad dictator? LOL) and some battle scenes when the Reichstag in Berlin was taken - that big budget really shines there! Have fast forward remote firmly in hand and there can be some enjoyment here. Note watched upgraded 2003 restoration.
