Oz: A Rock 'n' Roll Road Movie

An ocker reimagining of 'The Wizard of Oz' seems like a bad idea, but as will all such matters it is the execution which determines whether it is successful or not. On this occasion, Löfvén's directing and writing is up to the challenge and the lead performances are pitch perfect (although Graham Matters is no David Bowie). The film manages to capture something of the essence of the Australian sensibility (in particular its 1970s form). The soundtrack is "unreal" as Dorothy would say.
