Most absurd western since Gene Autry went to South Africa for his herding in Round-Up Time in Texas (1937)! For in Outlaws of the Desert (1941) William Boyd and the rest of the Hopalong Cassidy clan go to the deserts of Arabia to buy some horses. Instead they get involved in harems and questionable smoking! That's what happens when running out of plot ideas and you have to be creative.
