Out Cold

Maybe the best ski/snowboarding sex comedy movie ever...? I'm hard pressed to think of a better one. However, that might be more on account that the small handful of these movies that were made are mostly garbage, so there really isn't a lot of competition. Still, in the gross-out sex-comedy glut of the early 00s, this tongue-in-cheek 80's/90's ski movie/"Casablanca"(1942) parody, is a surprisingly solid watch.

I'm a big fan of this film. I don't tell too many people that, but I celebrate it when I find another fan. For those who understand that it is a fairly dumbed down take off of Casablanca, and for those who like snowboarding and absurd comedy, Out Cold is great. Really good!

How could you dislike the movie that introduced you to Zach Galifinakis?

Weirdly tame for a snowboarder sex comedy from 2001, especially considering it features Playmate of the Year Victoria Silvstedt- who really doesn't do half bad a job by the way- but it features a bizarrely great cast and is just heartfelt enough in places to be pretty enjoyable. There are some laughs, a solid if familiar story, and also Zach Galifianakis getting his schlong stuck in a hot tub jet. What more could you want?

When this movie hit theaters, I think this plot had officially been done 200 times. Hooray! If you can get past that, the actors are, in fact, funny, and there are, in fact, a few moments that make this film worthwhile.

Seen: 2. This was a hangout movie back in high school. It has a couple of moments, but isn't good.

Decent enough comedy in the vein of many an 80s flick. If you haven't seen it, DO NOT watch the trailer as it gives away most of the best bits of the flick.

I'm kind of surprised this film hasn't seen a mini-resurgence since Zach Galifianakis has become so loved.

I saw about 15 minutes. That was enough.

Watched it for the beardo before he was cool and in The Hangover.

The whole romantic plot with Jason London is uninteresting and it takes up a lot of time. It's not actually a very good film, but every now and then it's fun to watch something from the genre. There's a surprising number of respectable comic actors in this although they don't really get to do their thing to any degree. The soundtrack is almost intolerable. Come for the Galifianakis, stay if you're too tired to reach for the remote.

Very funny. That's all you expect from a comedy, isn't it?

Ugh. Ski School at least is honest about being a terrible B movie. Zach Galifinakis is the only good thing about this movie.
