Like a pure tear-jerker written and directed by Judd Apatow. And it works.

Just heartbreaking. Fantastic performance by Johnson, Affleck and Segel.

Really excellent performances and great individual scenes. Segel is incredible and at its best it’s truly heartbreaking. The structure was the biggest issue - frequently it would switch period right as I was really starting to get into a scene, and I think this led to the film being less than the sum of its parts, even though those parts are frequently great and emotional as hell.

Dealing with your own impending death must be hard. This movie is tragic, inspiring and thought provoking. At times it was intensely sad but also uplifting. Beautiful acting performances. Dakota Johnson was awesome and beautiful. Casey Affleck was good also. Jason Segel was funny. Everyone needs a best friend like him. For such a tragic story it leaves you feeling good. Some points subtracted for chopping up the timeline. Very emotional but also fun at times. Worthwhile

super depressing movie! Segel brings some great acting here; he is the best character.

I kind of like the story structure, there is a purpose in place. Strong performances all around lead to a smorgasbord of emotions, but it all ultimately feels a bit manipulative. But not too much. It's a strong drama dealing with one of life's toughest situations.
