DeVito does digs being an unpleasant little shit, and more power to him for that.

I wanted Danny Devito to be even more rascally. The female lawyer who becomes strangely attracted to him was terribly miscast in my opinion. She seemed too young and not matched against him in toughness or savvy. Dean Jones was great.

Articulates the conflict between an idealistic interpretation of 'old fashioned business' and neo-liberalism, represented by Peck's and DeVito's characters respectively. Larry is more fleshed out than Gordon Gekko, and DeVito plays him brilliantly. The film isn't forceful enough to make a serious impact, but the speeches (business has social responsibilities vs shareholder responsibilities) at the end are very well written and performed. Regrettably, the actual ending is a real cop-out.

I like Greg Peck and Danny DeVito in this one. Some very nice rousing speeches at the end. And everybody lives happily ever after.

Sure, it's a flawed movie, but I love it. I love the heart of Capitalism, the good of Capitalism, that's represented here. It's a good, kind of sexist, very money-hungry movie.
