The directing felt really unattached, and together with a weak story, this movie was very mediocre.

Kevin Spacey's character is just a little too clever, lucky and slick to be believed. The crazy ride was interesting and engaging. I loved his two women, Linda Florentino and Helen Baxendale. The crimes themselves were interesting and the cat and mouse game with the police was crazy. They don't even try to explain how he gets out at the end. Still fun to watch though it is mostly unconvincing.

The moronic background music and the jarring aint this fun tone they drown the film in make it unwatchable

generally a rehash of what was done in '98 with "the general", only this time it was a little more hollywood-ized. the story is still a good one, and the execution is nothing to scoff at. the bottom line is give either this one OR the general a watch, but watching them both is basically pointless.

Nothing special but good fun when it doesn't try to fascinate you with its complex plot. As soon as the badly directed first half hour stops dragging, it gives its place to an interesting crime film that maintains its sense of pace and climaxes in a notable way.

Cynical and funny.

Surprisingly bad. And not bad enough to start being good. The script is embarrassing; I've lost faith in most of the actors involved. And why so many non-Irish actors?
