Normally I'm irritated by historical bio-dramas that try to psychoanalyze their subjects. But there is value in portraying the relentless stress, exhaustion, and ground-level disappointments of people during wartime. OPERATION MINCEMEAT inevitably gets carried away at points, and is overlong as a whole, but I respect the ways its strives to be something more humane than a tarted-up history pageant.

At face value this should be great, right? Good British cast, intriguing story with proper production. But. Nature of story is that there is very little action. Which means one has to fill the time with other things. Like love interest. Like subplot that goes nowhere. And as such I'm not sold on this. I also hoped for some more of German perspective.

Utterly boring. Same goes for the forced romantic parts.

After watching it, I was unsure if I liked it or not. I was interested in some parts but bored in others. I think overall I've decided that it's a disappointing misfire.

Interesting real life plot made into a generic thriller. It's not bad, it's just...eh. I hated the love triangle though, utter garbage. I wish the spy received more screen time, I was not expecting him giving a handjob to a facist lmao

The romantic bits did not seem to fit the story (or work that well), but I enjoyed most everything else here. Worth a watch.

“Operation Mincemeat” is an average historical tale that manages to shed light on a less explored aspect of World War II. The intricate spy plot is intriguing, but the uninteresting human drama drags the film down. Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen give good performances, but the rest of the characters are underdeveloped.

There's not much to say about this film, except it tells an interesting story with some good characterisations and a decent cast. I'd recommend it, yes.

Not bad, just too formal and familiar. The espionage upon espionage is handled well.

2-3 torba popcorn yedirir. 2 saatlik süresi kısaltılabilirmiş. Filmin sonunda, sahiller elimizde. Çocukken oynardım ben bunları.

Exposition fest. Non-stop planning about a plan they already showed us would at least make it up to the finish line. Pair that with a tacked-on romantic triangle and 'Operation Mincemeat' becomes a slog.

Quite on par with the true story, but I do feel like there actually wasn’t too much to build upon. It is watchable but drags a bit long and doesn’t offer much in return.
