Some subjects are better left as fascinating factoids in history books, rather than ruined by poorly formulating them into movies. I suppose if I frame it that way, all subjects are better left unadapted, but this one just didn't quite do it for me. And as a history buff, that's a hard thing to admit. Isaac did a decent job, though.

Oscar Isaac and Ben Kingsley are acting their asses off, but to what end, I’m not sure. The film is enjoyable and incredibly well made, but is remarkably unfocused for the otherwise high level of quality.

Not the subject matter I would have chosen for a family-friendly heist picture. The film is tonally inconsistent and its resolution is poor: two seconds of Ben Kingsley standing by a firing line and three of a vicious diatribe do not counteract the rest of the film's (bizarrely focused) efforts to make his character sympathetic. Were it not for its headlining quality, this picture might be considered a tone-deaf TV movie to be broadcast and forgotten.

Bland and straightforward. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. Decent acting but very little tension or drama

The (astonishingly bad) poster is pretty much a summary of all this movie’s problems. It’s as subtle as a sledge-hammer, garish, and overly busy. It takes an hour to decide on its tone, and is unsure of its point from there, causing it to fizzle and fail to go beyond surface level questions. It’s not that Operation Finale lacks the strength of its convictions, it just genuinely doesn’t know what its own convictions are.

A lot of good talent here doing good things, however the reason this story has never been made into a major film before is clearly due to the fact that despite it's importance in history, it's not very interesting.

Turns out the real events are even duller. So, even though the acting is really good, when your story is not that great, you just get a mediocre film. The story in summary is interesting, but on the fine details, it doesn't carry much.

If 'Operation Finale' had an aura of wanting to tell this story as truthfully as possible, it would have been easier for me to forgive how little tension Weitz manages to build throughout. The operation itself, as well as the acting talent on display, deserved an angry Steven Spielberg at the helm.

Oscar Isaac does it again, in a stellar performance. Nick Kroll manages to escape is comfort zone with this one and I'm glad he did. Though his performance wasn't fantastic, I appreciate the effort he made in a very important movie.

Kind of a boring movie. The trailer is a lot more interesting.. So many talented actors though... how the hell did this turn so dull?

frankly didn't see a point to it.does feature two amazing leads &has good first&last acts.leads keep middle from being too bogged down but being completely left in the dark about what this movie wanted me to feel/contemplate besides wondering if it was trying to excuse a convicted Nazi occupied my thoughts more than any onscreen action. There's entertainment to be had, & it looks good (not great) but theres too many movies it wishes it was (Munich) to recommend Operation Finale over its betters

Worth ??ing | Great acting from Kingsley (charm+remorse NOT sincere; playing Eichmann as manipulative sociopath prob was) but also Isaac. •Nice surprise: mild banter & team wit lightened weight; Nice group dynamics, bickering + Heist elements | Doesnt alter/ 'punchup' real story much if at all -> sparser action & more emotion, contemplation than typical; glad 4 that. Yes, Munich is better & its real events ? more action 2. Yet this lower key, veritable & reflective tale has merit

This revisionist tale of Nazi hunters was frequently tedious and difficult to enjoy. A psychological drama with far too little satisfying action. It has too many mundane and boring scenes. Some of the acting performances were poorly delivered or felt forced. Oscar Isaac was both good and terrible. Ben Kingsley was good. Barely worth watching.

The fact that they didn't portray Eichmann as evil as was expected pissed me off. No, you don't get to humanize him, not after what he did.

The writers of this movie try to tackle a subject that is obviously beyond them. They think they're making a movie in which the nature of evil is explored. What we see: a B-movie that could have been written by a team of middle schoolers. (Eichmann does indeed love numbers though, your suspicions were right)
