I wish I could say this is a bad from book to script adaptation but honestly it's not I think the main problem is poor casting the characters don't feel anything at all like the one's she described in the book

Apparently based on a book series, wondering if this would do better as a TV show. There was certainly potential. It wasn't a bad movie by any measure, I think it just tried to spread across too many genre's and didn't really hit any one of them out of the park.

Remembering what third-rate movies the ensemble cast of D-list thespians once starred in was probably more entertaining than the movie itself.

A boring film that is as compelling of a case for gynocide as Von Trier's Antichrist. Heigl lacks any charisma and the script is tedious and somewhat racist.

The books were at least entertaining, but an adaptation had an opportunity to spice them up and add real world grit $ edginess without losing the comedy. This is a watered down, completely tepid, flavorless formulaic mess. Awful chemistry, everyone looks like a Barbie. Everyone playing for laughs instead of playing it real & letting the situations warrant the laughs. Far too smugly precocious, without taking any real chances.

Heigl's much better in One for the Money than in Knocked Up or The Ugly Truth, confidently carrying the film with a cute personality and lots of down-to-earth sexiness. She affects a New Jersey accent I am unqualified to evaluate, but it works for me and I like it. Mostly, though, there's just a really charming, unwarranted confidence she approaches every strange and dangerous situation with, as if she knows she doesn't know what she's doing but is pretty sure things will work out.

Heigl, who is usually OK in comedies, is miscast as a heroine we readers already see in our minds--Jenna Elfman with brown hair would have been a better fit. Debbie Reynolds didn't fit at all--the book's Grandma is considerably more acerbic and not as cute. The thinness of Evanovich's plots require considerable creativity with a film script, and this effort failed.

Katherine.H again is stuck in a crappy story, as in most of her films; she's got a good comic timing, a rare quality, and needs to pick better parts. *Preview*: #12#, exp-2*, popcorn, story, Katherine.H/7-3, R2.

Considering how this movie turned out to be I dont believe there is any chance of a franchise. The movie is predictably shit, I havent read the novels so cant compare the movie to it. Guess the only way Katherine Heigl is going to make this franchise is if she produces and finances each one of the flops. Dont even bother watching this one.

This is okay. Heigl looks like she's having fun, and this is a relatively breezy distaff PG-13 Elmore Leonard riff. Lots of the characters behave really, really stupidly, though.

I've never read the books before. At times it feels like a neo-noir, and at others like a sitcom, but it works. It was pretty enjoyable. There were a few too many coincidences, and it seemed like everyone knew each other, even though they lived in a big city. I'm usually not a fan of Katherine Heigl, but she was decent in this. She had good chemistry with Jason O'Mara, it reminded of The Bounty Hunter (Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler). It was also pretty funny, I smiled quite a few times.

This movie was fun. I thought Heigl was a very cute Jersey Girl and could also be a spit-fire butt kicker. My one complaint about this movie was some of the quiet scenes, they seemed a bit too long and made the action of the movie drag. I thought Lula was as funny as she is in the books and Heigl's two love interests were also great participants in this film. I certainly hope they make more of the books into movies but with the low reviews it has received I doubt we'll see that happen.

A long, long way from KNOCKED UP, Katherine Heigl attempts to start a franchise of her own: an adaptation of the Stephanie Plum novels. However good the novels may be, for the sake of the cinema, I hope no more films are made. Heigl's Plum is annoyingly incompetent, whiny, and unfunny, not helped by a wretched script: a boring, convoluted mystery packed with unlikable, sometimes offensive characters, like Jason O'Mara's obnoxious love interest. A really painful experience from start to finish.
