Elmer owns a gas station out in the California desert. Soon he has a business rival in Jim, who opens up another station, and is also trying to steal Elmer's girlfriend. Buster runs a little gas station in the middle of nowhere so naturally someone sets up a rival station right next to it! And once they'd run through enough gags with that one they went on to baseball with the winner getting the new girl in town. Plenty of funny moments in typical Buster fashion. This is more the Buster method of working then what we saw of him in MGM. But of course now he can only do his stuff in low budget 2-reel shorts and not features.
