However everything about this movie is staged so damn contrived that it becomes incredibly hokey. A well meaning story and while the scenes are profoundly uneven, Lionel Barrymore shines through with his eccentric mannerisms. Also May Robson helps bring some color to this. But I had trouble taking in Dorothy Jordan performance in this. Thankfully she only pops up once in a while and lets Barrymore do his job of keeping this picture together....
