One of the biggest flops of 1931 as British stage star Evelyn Laye make her grand American screen debut! Abysmal comedy from Leon Errol! A very forgettable performance from John Boles as her leading man. His singing voice was crystal clear though. Lilyan Tashman was just about the only one with any real attitude and she was way underused! Poor Evelyn Laye, this just wasn't supposed to be. She really felt wrong for the part. Then again who would have looked good with such a poor script....?
