On Stage Everybody

I'm struggling to get into the youthful musicals that was released during the war. Too one-dimensional and bubbly. A regular in those was Peggy Ryan, who I like, even if a little lightweight. Here she get the lead, a rare one without Donald O'Connor by her side. Instead she gets musical veteran Jack Oakie as her troubled showbiz dad. The story is a run-of-the-mill type deal. A few of the characters, mostly the older ones, help keep to this mildly fun, but this wasn't anything amazing.
