Really compelling ideas here, anything cult like in a country setting gets me on edge but I fear conceptually things are almost too big to pull off effectively. The nightmare scenarios and deep booming voices worked well but a lot of exposition dumping kind of ruined the flow and gradual discovery of what was happening.

Wasted Lovecraftian horror. Fizzles when it should ramp up. For example, a late moment consists of an unbroken still shot, with Rivers talking to his pursuer through a shut door. Decent acting but it's boring and not dynamic in the least. Or really, cinematic. You have to understand indie restraints and work around them, and this movie is at its worst when it doesn't. Loved the deity rising shot, even if what came after was less inspired. Shot well as a whole, got some enjoyment out of it.
